People often ask me, "is what you do a sad job?"

I write about and I research crime. Yes, it is terrible to see what humans are capable of doing to one another. But I also get to meet some of the finest people - survivors, volunteers, professionals, and - yes - animals! Here are just a few of those amazing times.
